Where to walk your dog off-leash in Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, and the Luberon. Fenced caniparcs, Calanques hiking trails, pine processionary alerts, and summer heat.
Marseille is surrounded by stunning Mediterranean terrain, but urban dog regulations are strictly enforced. To let your dog play safely off-leash, head to dedicated enclosed municipal caniparcs.
Parc Longchamp (4th arrondissement) features a dedicated enclosed dog run with water points. In Parc Borély (8th), dogs on a leash are welcome in outer alleys, with seaside strolls on the Corniche Kennedy right across the road.
Dogs on a leash are permitted on marked trails in the Calanques massif. Never hike between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM in July/August: the white limestone reaches temperatures exceeding 50°C (122°F), causing severe paw pad burns within minutes.
The free ParcAChien app features a live GPS map with over 4,600 fully fenced dog parks, dog beaches, and 24/7 emergency veterinary clinics across France.
